"Key Technology of Intelligent Equipment for Canned Citrus Processing" won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of China Food Industry Association

Canned citrus is my country's dominant industry, with an annual output accounting for more than 80% of the world's total. A large number of canned citrus are exported to Europe, America, Japan and other countries. The canning industry was once considered to be a labor-intensive industry that required "popular tactics". For example, in the production of canned citrus, the process of peeling and splitting oranges used to be done manually. In recent years, the recruitment of canned citrus processing has seriously restricted the development of the industry, and it is urgent to promote industrial upgrading through intelligent transformation.
Beginning in 2012, Zhejiang Taizhou Yican Food Co., Ltd. and the Food Science Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences have jointly developed an intelligent citrus peeler to explore the way of "machine substitution" in the traditional food industry. The "Key Technology Research and Development of Intelligent Equipment for Canned Citrus Processing" project is led by Dr. Jun Zhang, a scientist at the post-harvest processing and post-harvest processing position of the National Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology System. Production cost, improve product quality and increase output. On December 6, 2020, the "Key Technology Research and Development of Intelligent Equipment for Canned Citrus Processing" with the core of the intelligent peeler won the first prize of the "China Food Industry Association Science and Technology Award" in 2018-2019.
